One of the highlights from my trip to California (although NOT the highlight...the highlight was seeing Megs) was going to an Amy Grant concert! She was doing a 20th anniversary tour of her 1988 Lead Me On tour. She did only songs from 1988 and before, and although I was only 2 years old in 1988 I knew all the words and gladly sang along! Megs and I were by far the youngest in the audience, but it was still a fun night!!

I love Amy Grant, and I always have. I remember performing "amy grant" concerts with my cousins and brother to "Baby, Baby" "Thats What Love is For" "Hope Set High" and so much more. I loved her music then, it was the coolest music mom let us listen too and it was all I knew. In 1995, I attended my very first concert, the Amy Grant House of Love Tour! We had the opportunity to go back stage and meet her, which was very cool...I was 10 years old.And now 12 years later I had the opportunity to meet Amy again, and it was still very cool. Even though she is like my parent's age, it was very exciting for me. I love her music, especially her stuff from the 80's. I love that her songs hold so much truth and authenticity. They move me and challenge me and have inspired me for years. All I need on a good or bad day is the Word of God and an Amy Grant song. It's real life and it is beautiful. She makes me love Jesus more, and I guess that is all that really matters.

California with Megs

I just got back from the sunny state of California! I went to visit my dear friend Megan. It was so wonderful to see her and spend some quality time with her. She is working for FCA in Orange County and living the life :) We went to the beach, shopped, rode bikes, ate at some really good restaurants, and just enjoyed hanging out. I was really sad to leave, but I leave for training in 3 days and have lots to do before then. Here are some pictures from my trip...I'll post more later. I am going to attempt to go to bed now, although it's only 8:30pm CA time!

HCA Homecoming

I graduated from HCA in 2004! Which means the current senior class was in 7th grade when I graduated. WOW!! How time flies. But I still love going back for Homecoming...seeing old teachers, catching up with friends, seeing how the school has changed and watching football. It is always a fun night. It is Crazy that my little sister is even an alumni now.
This is a picture of my fun and sweet friend, Kelly Salmon. In 1991, we both entered Kindergarten at HCA. There were 15 students in our class and our teacher's name was Miss Gurganious. We often got in trouble during carpet time or rest time or really any other time!! But we loved being together and have always had so much fun together.

Oh and while cleaning out my room I found this picture of Kelly and I from 1999!! We were in middle school, probably 6th or 7th grade. For several years we wore this outfit to every single NC state football game and basketball game. We LOVED matching and looking so cute. HA!

Life in Rose Hill

Life in Rose Hill is good :) I actually havent been as bored at I thought I would be. On Monday, Mom, LB and I went shopping in Wilmington. We got a lot accomplished...much to my father's dismay! I have also been busy busy cleaning out my room, in order to put away all the stuff I moved home from Raleigh I have to clean out the old stuff. I have found clothes, books, birthday cards and other junk from middle school!! It is quite time consuming, but I know it will make packing for training and Turkey much easier. Here are some pictures of my piles of junk....my mom keeps saying "the house was so neat before" (and then she moans!) One closest that is completed and organized!AND I got my hair cut!! I am really enjoying it so far. I took a picture with my webcam...enjoy :)

Last week in Raleigh!

My last week in Raleigh included lots of fun and special memories!!Quinn and I really wanted to see the movie Fireproof as well as get in some rollerblading before the NCSU football game. So we decided to rollerblade to Crossroads to see the movie, dont worry we were really really careful. And I highly recommend that everyone go see Fireproof!!
The NCSU football game last weekend was not the best experience...although tailgating was a lot of fun! The Salmons always put on quite a show, with good food and great hospitality :)

Over the past year and a half I have had the privilege of babysitting for these sweet girls. Last Sunday they treated me to dinner and then ice cream at Goodberry's...yummy yummy. I will miss them very much!

Friday Night I had the chance to hang out with some dear friends. I am so grateful for each of these girls.
